Steven loves being a lawyer. It gives him the opportunity to help real people. He considers it a privilege to fight for the rights of individuals that have been harmed by the negligence and maleficence of large corporations. Steven also loves to win.
Steven has served as lead counsel in many cases of public interest. His cases and work have been mentioned in national and local media outlets including Full Measure, America’s Lawyer, Ring of Fire, local news (NBC and ABC); Law360, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, American Journal of Trial Advocacy, Huffington Post, Columbus Dispatch, Global Policy Journal, Top Class Actions, Reuters, and Trial Lawyers Magazine. Steven has devoted a significant portion of his practice to investigating and litigating cases of sex trafficking in nationally branded hotels. He is the lead trial counsel (along with other co-counsel) on the very first case filed under the federal Trafficking Victims Protections Act against major hotel brands. Currently, he is working with a consortium of lawyers across the country to develop strategies and file cases on behalf of victims of human trafficking. These cases are a first of their kind in the country. These lawsuits, brought on behalf of victims of human trafficking, seek damages against the hotel and motel industry.
Steven serves in several other leadership positions in litigations throughout the country. He is a member of the leadership coalition in the Boy Scout Sex Abuse bankruptcy.
